Carol Bradshaw and Keeley Thomson are our careers advisors from 'Futures' They are based in the Careers office with is situated in the library. Their priority in September is year 11 pupils to ensure that all pupils have a plan for when they leave the Academy. Appointment dates and times are shared with staff and pupils on a weekly basis. All pupils are provided with an action plan following their appointment which they are advised to share with parents. Once all year 11 have been seen at least once, we will start making appointments for year 10. If any pupil feels that they need an urgent appointment with 'Futures' they should come and see Miss Boseley who will arrange this for them.
Support from 'Futures' ensures that all our pupils receive impartial, 'non-biased' advice and are encouraged to apply for the course most suitable to them.
They also support at our careers fair offering advice to pupils and their parents, Bright Days and are always on hand on results day to offer last minute advice and support to year 11.
Our Futures advisers also track and monitor our potential NEET pupils to ensure our percentage of NEET pupils is below the national average.
